The Serbian tenor Zoran Todorovich was trained in Belgrade and Frankfurt, starting his musical career in Detmold, Hanover and in the mid-90s at the Eutin Festival as Don José in Carmen. His international breakthrough came with his debuts at the Vienna State Opera as Pinkerton, Alfredo in La Traviata, the title role in Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux and as Pollione in Bellini’s Norma.

He prefers to sing roles from the French and Italian repertoire such as Verdi’s Duke (Rigoletto), Don Carlo and Don Álvaro (La forza del destino), Puccini’s Rodolfo (La Bohème), Dick Johnson (La fanciulla del West) or Cavaradossi (Tosca). He has given guest performances in Nice, Marseille, Lyon, Paris, Brussels, London, at the Bregenz Festival, in Madrid, San Francisco, Tokyo and Barcelona as well as in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich and Dresden. Zoran Todorovich has worked with renowned conductors such as Mehta, Viotti, Luisi, Young and Runnicles. He appeared at Opera Vlaanderen in 2018/19 as Lohengrin and Eléazar (Halévy’s La Juive), as well as Apollo (Daphne) in Hamburg and at Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Calaf (Turandot), Pinkerton and Otello.
For the opening of the 2022/2023 season, Zoran Todorovich will stage Madama Butterfly for the first time in Detmold and appear in Salome at the Opéra Bastille in Paris.
