Vlada Koieva is one of the most fascinating lyric sopranos of the new generation.
With her warm, velvety voice, a radiant timbre and a powerful, luminous upper register, she captivates audiences and critics alike on international stages. The Ukrainian soprano of Bulgarian origin combines technical brilliance with extraordinary expressiveness. Her versatile repertoire regularly takes her to renowned opera houses, concert programmes and major festivals across Europe. As a prize-winner at several international competitions, Vlada Koieva is today synonymous with artistic excellence, emotive interpretations and a voice of extraordinary radiance – an artist who is already attracting considerable attention, and not just from Europe’s opera world.
She received her Master’s degree in Opera Singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in the class of Professor Geert Smits. She previously earned both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Opera and Concert Singing at the Odessa National Music Academy named after A. V. Nezhdanova, where she also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Choral Conducting.
From 2021 to 2023, she was a soloist at the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, having previously been a member of its Opera Studio. Between 2017 and 2022, she taught singing and choral conducting at the Odessa Music Lyceum named after P. S. Stolyarsky.
Vlada is a prizewinner and finalist of numerous international competitions. In December 2025, she won First Prize in the Virtual Category at the Premier Opera Foundation Competition. Highlights also include First Prizes at the 14th Klaudia Taev Opera Competition (2025), the Elise Meyer Competition (2025), and the Mozart-Preis für Gesang (2025). She was a finalist of the Tenor Viñas International Singing Contest (2025), and a semi-finalist of both the Queen Sonja Singing Competition (2025) and the Stanisław Moniuszko International Singing Competition (2025). Her earlier achievements include First Prize at the “Bellano Paese Degli Artisti” International Competition (2022) and Grand Prix awards at two Ukrainian vocal Competitions (2021).
She has taken part in masterclasses and training programms with renowned artists such as Maria Guleghina, Dorothea Röschmann, Anne Schwanewilms, Hedwig Fassbender, and Nelly Miricioiu, including participation in the “Exzellenz Labor Oper” summer course and the Berlin Opera Academy.
Her repertoire includes roles such as Servilia (La Clemenza di Tito), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Musetta (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Brigitta and Iolanta (Iolanta).
