Polish young Mezzosoprano Natalia Płonka has a beautifull lyric and shiny voice, with a clear top.
In 2022 graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland achieving master’s degree in Opera&Theatre Performing Arts, where she studied with prof. Ewa Biegas and dr Ewa Tracz. Since 2023 has studied with Veronica Veysey Campbell. Before enrolling in the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music to study voice, she had also received a complete training as a pianist.
Her repertoire includes opera, operetta and oratorio works, as well as Lieder/art song cycles. The young mezzo appeared on stage performing roles such as Dido from Haendel’s Dido&Aeneas, Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni or Adolfine from Lubomirski’s Die Liebe Unschuld. In concert, she appears performing solo parts from Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, or Moniuszko’s Mass in E flat.
In 2022 she completed a recording project of Polish composer Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s songs for the DUX record company.
The young mezzo engages as well in the contemporary music/opera projects, in 2020 she performed a world premiere of a piece Also Schweige Ich by Thomas Hummel on the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra chamber stage, in 2019 performed a world premiere of a chamber contemporary opera Black Mirror by Wojciech Stępień.
She has appeared in numerous gala concerts and cooperated with companies like ICE Krakow, Koszalin Philharmonic, Zabrze Philharmonic, Walbrzych Philharmonic, Silesian Opera, NOSPR Katowice.
The young mezzosoprano has been awarded multiple prizes at both international and national vocal competitions, among others: 1st prize at the 2nd Polish Academies of Music Tournament held by the Grand Theatre in Łódź (2022), 3rd prize at the 24th Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský International Singing Competition (2021), 1st prize on International Singing Competition Iuventus Canti in Vrable (2019), 3rd prize at the 3rd International Sacred Music Vocal Competition Ars et Gloria, Katowice (2019).
