Regina Riel is an Austrian soprano with a powerful dramatic voice, predestined for the dramatic roles in German and Italian repertoire by Wagner, R. Strauss, Verdi and Puccini. She has a luminous voice with a radiant, effortless high register.
Regina Riel has already sung at several renowned opera houses in Austria and Germany, with roles such as Agathe in Der Freischütz by C.M.v.Weber, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus by J.Strauss and various other opera and operetta roles.
Her extensive concert repertoire is regularly performed at festivals and concerts, for example at the Brucknerfest Linz and the International Bruckner Days in St. Florian.
She has thus been able to perform soprano roles in works such as ‘Carmina Burana’ (Orff), ‘Die Jahreszeiten’ (Haydn), ‘The Creation’ (Haydn), ‘9th Symphony’ (Beethoven), ‘Stabat Mater’ (Rossini), ‘Lobgesang’ (Mendelssohn), “Liebeslieder” (Brahms), ‘Te Deum’ (Bruckner), „TeDeum (Charpentiers), Christmas Oratorio (Saint Saens), Requiem settings by
Fauré, Rutter and Mozart, Ein deutsches Requiem (Brahms), as well as a large number of mass settings by Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Bruckner, among others. The ‘Wesendonk Lieder’ by Richard Wagner and the ‘7 Early Songs’ by Alban Berg
are also part of her song repertoire, as are songs by Richard Strauss and Franz Liszt. Regina Riel is a prize winner of the ‘Gradus ad Parnassum 2009’, recipient of the „Richard–Wagner Scholarship 2011‘, the ’Edith Rebhahn Scholarship 2011‘, winner of the ’Prof. Dichler Competition 2013‘ and finalist in the international singing competition ’Competizione dell’opera“ in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in 2014.
