North German conductor Anne Hinrichsen has quickly established a reputation for natural musicality and a great sense of empathic leadership. She currently is conductor and Head of Music (Studienleiterin) at Theater Bielefeld.
In 2024/25 she conducted among others the production of the opera „Die Kleine Hexe – Oper für Kinder von Franz Wittenbrink“ at the Komische Oper Berlin.
Since 2020 she was the musical director for several productions including Rusalka, Dunkel ist die Nacht, Rigoletto as well as the World Première of Berlin Alexanderplatz; critically acclaimed, „Die Opernwelt“ wrote: “In the pit Anne Hinrichsen pulled the strings of the demanding score with great aplomb and security.“ „..works wonders, leads with huge inner tension (..), coordinates the complex event with precision.(..) a superior achievement.“
Highlights during the 2022/23 season included appearances with the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Oviedo Filarmonìa, the Orchestra of Valencia and the Youth Orchestra of Ostwestfalen, Germany. Upon concluding being a scholarship holder of the Orchestral Academy of the Zurich Opera, Anne Hinrichsen has been engaged as a pianist and teacher at the precollege at the University of the Arts Zurich (ZHdK) between 2008 and 2020 and remains in great demand as both pianist and coach for various instrumentalists, singers and choirs. She garnered additional experience playing with the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Zürich, the Symphony Orchestra of Bern and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Anne Hinrichsen worked for several seasons (2015-2020) at the theatre of Bern, where she was a musical assistant and conducted performances of the dance production Swan, Humanoid (L. Evers) and Rossini`s Il Barbiere di Sevilla.
Anne Hinrichsen went to Zurich in 2007 to deepen her skills in the fields of orchestra playing and instrumental and vocal accompaniment in the orchestra academy of the Zurich Opera House. Already during her piano studies in Lübeck (Prof. Jacques Ammon and Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst) and Freiburg (Prof. Gilead Mishory) Anne Hinrichsen participated several times in the Orchestra Academy of the Schleswig-Holstein-Musik-Festival whereupon she applied herself more to the orchestra repertoire.
Furthermore she has been leading a church choir over many years that she worked and gave concerts with regularly. 2013 Anne Hinrichsen was given a CAS in choir leading by Prof. Markus Utz and Prof. Beat Schäfer at the ZHdK.
Since the conducting started to play an increasingly important role in her musical profile, Anne Hinrichsen graduated in orchestra conducting with Prof. Marc Kissoczy in 2016 (CAS) and since then pursues this path with commitment and passion.
